The Heritage Center Museum displays artifacts which relate to Moultrie County, Illinois'
history and to its people. The museum was closed during the renovation of the facade of the Heritage Center building. It is
now reopened with several changes in the displays.
Presently we are featuring our WWII artifacts and military history. We have also added
a 1930 era doctor's office and a display honoring our religious communities. A portion of the west wall is now dedicated to
Moultrie's schools and educational system. Being an agricultural area, the Museum has a large display of tool used by local
farmers in their quest of providing food for their families and for the nation. The numerous
glass cases contain collections relating to the life and times of Moultrie County's people.
We encourage all --members and non-members-- to visit the Heritage Center Museum during
the open hours on Mondays and Saturdays. Group visits of ten or more persons are available by calling (217)728-4085
or email firstname.lastname@example.org
It is the policy of MCH&GS to not accept loans of artifacts for the museum except
under special showing circumstances. All items donated will be evaluated and used as determined most beneficial to the Society.
